How Joe Lurie intrigues people through difference [The Culture Guy Podcast]

Joe Lurie, the author of Perception and Deception – A mind-opening journey across cultures, is back for another conversation about bringing people from around the world together.

UC Berkeley’s International House is a dynamic multi-national residential program center serving the campus, local community, and 1,000 residents from 75 plus countries annually. The mission of the International House is to foster intercultural respect and understanding for the promotion of a more peaceful world.
With residents from Turkey to Thailand to Togo and Texas, everything from lunch to laundry is a cross-cultural experience.

In his book, Joe explains how he discovered that his perception of a situation could be “deceptive” when he looked at it simply through his own Lens. The book is is an engaging and insightful introduction to cross-cultural communication in a globalized world. It contains dozens of intriguing intercultural experiences, gathered from Joe’s research and his decades living abroad.
