In this episode Christian talks to Johnnie Cass, communication expert, international speaker, NLP master, and coach from Sydney, Australia.
Johnnie has been traveling the word for the past 15+ years and has worked with tens of thousands of individuals on five continents, coaching them all to greater levels of personal and business success. With a diverse background in film, television and business management, as well as an extensive background in human behavior and personal performance, Johnnie is a highly sought out and regarded performance coach and consultant.
Johnnie sat down with The Culture Guy during his first trip to Atlanta, GA (USA), where he led a 3-day training program. In this episode he shares his experience of working in Southeast Asia where he quickly learned how his Aussie humor failed to resonate with his audience and made him “look like a fool” on a stage in front of hundreds of people.
Johnnie als explains the Tall Poppy Syndrome which appears to be well and alive in Australia. A societal phenomenon in which people of genuine merit are resented, attacked, cut down, or criticized because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers. Johnnie has set out to challenge this behavior.
You can find out more about Johnnie’s work on his website and on his Facebook Fan Page. He tweets via @johnniecass and networks via LinkedIn as well.
